Overview
We are looking for experienced freight brokers to join our team. We have employment (commissioned) and contractor (1099) roles available. Our ideal candidate is a broker with existing accounts. We have an entrepreneurial culture, backed by a company with strong credit, good processes and people; which is why our brokers, on average have been with us for over 10 years. In addition to our brokerage, we also have a trucking company. The trucking company often affords our brokers access to accounts that would be more difficult to attain and build if they weren't associated with a trucking company.
Duties
- Develop and maintain relationships with carriers and clients to ensure efficient freight movement.
- Negotiate rates and terms with carriers to secure competitive pricing for shipments.
- Utilize software systems, including PCS Express, for data entry and tracking of shipments.
- Manage inside sales efforts to grow the customer base and increase revenue.
- Coordinate logistics sales activities, ensuring all shipments are executed smoothly.
- Monitor shipment status and communicate updates to clients, addressing any issues that arise.
- Analyze market trends to identify opportunities for improvement in service offerings.
Requirements
- Proven track record as a freight broker is strongly preferred
- Proficient computer/TMS skills and attention to detail
- Excellent negotiation skills to secure favorable terms with carriers and shippers.
- Ability to manage customer relationships effectively, ensuring high levels of satisfaction
