Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Asbestos Supervisor to lead and oversee asbestos abatement projects, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and industry standards. In this vital role, you will supervise teams responsible for the safe removal and management of asbestos-containing materials, coordinate project activities, and uphold the highest standards of safety, sanitation, and quality. Duties
- Supervise and coordinate asbestos removal and remediation activities, ensuring adherence to all safety regulations and industry best practices
- Lead a team of technicians and workers, providing clear instructions, training, and ongoing supervision to maintain high performance levels
- Conduct site inspections to assess asbestos hazards, plan work procedures, and ensure proper containment and disposal methods are followed
- Communicate effectively with clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies to ensure project requirements are met efficiently and safely
- Oversee the use of cleaning, sanitation, and custodial equipment during asbestos abatement processes to maintain a clean and safe work environment
- Maintain detailed documentation of project progress, safety compliance records, and incident reports
- Enforce safety protocols related to asbestos handling, including personal protective equipment (PPE) usage and emergency procedures
Requirements
- Proven experience supervising industrial cleaning or asbestos abatement projects with a strong understanding of safety regulations governing hazardous materials
- Demonstrated staff supervision and team management skills in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of cleaning & sanitation management practices specific to hazardous materials handling
- Excellent managerial communication skills to coordinate with team members, clients, and regulatory bodies effectively
- Custodial experience or janitorial background with an emphasis on safety standards in industrial or commercial settings
- Familiarity with safety regulations related to asbestos removal, including OSHA standards or equivalent local laws
- Strong leadership qualities with the ability to motivate teams while maintaining strict adherence to safety procedures
- Experience in hospitality or hotel housekeeping management is a plus for managing sanitation in large-scale environments
