Our truck drivers are an integral part of our organization that supports our operations. Most driving is spent locally, with drivers able to go home each night and optional work that sometimes requires travel and overnight stays depending on the job location. This role involves having a team mentality with crews and other drivers while operating on an independent level. Drivers need to be effective communicators, able to safely operate our vehicles (ranging from water trucks, dump trucks, tractors paired with trailers, etc.), capable of detailed equipment inspections, and flexible with their vehicle assignment to best support operations.
LICENSE REQUIREMENTS
· Preferred: Class A Commercial License
· Tanker Endorsements
· Doubles/Triples Endorsements
· Preferred: No Auto Restrictions
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Conduct daily vehicle inspections, including lifting the hood of the trucks and the ability climb in and out of the vehicle.
· Familiar with ELD rules and regulations, and the ability to utilize electronic tablets daily to track hours which includes coding to submit accurate timecards.
· Able to communicate with crews, dispatch, and their supervisor in a timely and respectful manner, submitting detailed notes of loads delivered and locations visited.
· Capable of reporting to work on time and the ability to plan their day accordingly, incorporating enough time for vehicle inspections and load times before reporting to job sites.
· Familiar with or willing to learn how to navigate construction sites in a safe manner without obstructing the work being performed.
· Understands the FMCSA Hours of Service regulations and driver log requirements.
· This position is expected to work nights, weekends, some holidays and less than 25% of travel to meet the demand of the construction season.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
· High school diploma. Experience in the construction industry preferred.
· Excellent time management and organizational skills required.
· Must be able to effectively communicate both orally and in writing.
· Valid driver’s license and clean driving record are required.
· This position requires a pre-employment drug test.
