We are currently looking for a Cardiac Stress Technician to join our practice and provide cardiac patient care on our Nuclear Stress Team. This position is located in our West End Office.
The applicant will be responsible for patient preparation, IV insertion and medication administration, administration of exercise testing and pharmacological/nuclear stress tests, and application of BLS measures to patients when directed. Must have prior clinical experience and cardiac experience is a plus.
Candidate must have a degree in Exercise Physiology, Nursing and/or EMT-Paramedic training.
The Cardiac Stress Technician will work under the direct supervision of site physician, performing various professional and administrative duties related to nuclear medicine stress testing

Responsibilities:
- The Cardiac Stress Technician will work under the general supervision of site physician, performing various professional and administrative duties related to cardiac stress testing
- Applies heart monitors and instructs patients on their use.
- Prepares, assesses, and provides care for the patient throughout the procedure
- Tests performed may include exercise stress test, pharmacological stress tests, stress echocardiograms and nuclear stress tests
- Other testing done may include 12-lead EKG’s, EEG’s, EECP, and scanning Holter Monitors
- Enters data in the EMR.
- Provides patient education.
Qualifications:
- HS Diploma or equivalent required
- Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Physiology/Science or related major OR successful completion of a Cardiac Technician course preferred
- Must be American Heart Association (AHA) Healthcare Provider BLS certified and ACLS certified.
- Should be computer literate in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, and Practice Management Systems
- Job requires standing for prolonged periods, frequently bending/stooping, and reaching (overhead, extensive, and repetitive)
- Ability to work well with others in a professional manner in a team oriented environment
- Computer literate; prior experience with the use of an Electronic Medical Record (EMR) preferred
- Prior experience in a clinical position; cardiology field preferred
- Able to work independently, and work under pressure
