Gardenview Montessori School is hiring a part time assitant teacher in one of the toddler classes (18 mos - 3 year old class). The hours for this position are 11:30 - 4:00 with the possibility for more hours, especially during the Fall and Winter.
The ideal candidate will:
-be kind and nurturing to young children
-be patient and understanding of individual needs of children
-be willing to help keep classroom clean and organized
-prepare and maintain the classroom and materials
-be expected to spend some time on the floor with the children
-be able to squat or bend down to the child's level when speaking to them
-have prior experience working with young children
-be dependable and reliable for the assigned shift
-be able to supervise children at all times to ensure their safety
-be comfortable helping children in the bathroom and changing diapers
-be 18 or older
-be able to work closely with others
Montessori experience is not necessary, but is a bonus!
Upon hire, applicant must be willing and able to complete:
-Pass a TB Test before first day of work
-Register with MERIT*
-a background check through the Department of Children, Youth & Families
-complete STARS Basic training within the first 6 months*
-CPR and First Aid Training
-Food Handler’s Permit -Bloodborne Pathogen Training
-annual professional development requirements

Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
