As a Slurry Manufacturing Engineer – you will LEAD by……….
We are looking for a professional like you who will be responsible for the quality, safety, strategy, and production efficiency of the Light Duty slurry manufacturing lines within the Huntsville site. Your team members will consist of engineers, engineering techs, and the technical trainer for a 24/7 Slurry operation.
The Slurry Manufacturing Engineer will effectively support the operation of the slurry production lines through an operational excellence journey and tactical plans that deliver the best products to our customers and profitability to the company. In addition, you will provide strong EHS leadership with your team, as well as the Huntsville site overall. You will also provide peer leadership that coordinates support to keep the production lines running safely and efficiently.
In this role you will
Develop and execute various initiatives to improve the long-term performance of the department and support immediate production issues.
Organize, participate, and lead projects and improvement discussions.
Develop training material to communicate changes to production equipment and facilitate the growth and development of the affected teams.
Act as the primary technical lead for capital investment projects, from feasibility through implementation.
Lead root cause analysis (RCA) for quality and safety incidents; implement corrective and preventive actions.
Analyze production data to identify opportunities and support quality investigations.
Relying on your practical experience in troubleshooting plant problems and optimizing plant performance, you will lead the team in slurry throughput improvements.
Work closely with production supervisors, operators, maintenance, and quality teams to improve productivity and ensure smooth operations.
Your elements for success……
An Engineering degree in Industry Related Discipline plus a minimum of 1+ years of experience in Process Engineering/Production Engineering or automotive catalysts engineering required.
Knowledge of manufacturing processes and process controls required.
Ability to organize optimization projects and execute efficiently: reduce batch times, improve equipment reliability and utilization, and improve overall Mass Balance performance preferred
Proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI and SQL data mining preferred
Experience with data analysis, technical writing, and presentation building preferred
Strong commitment to safety culture is required as you support safety improvements and investigating safety incidents.
Ability to support departmental needs required.
Ability to see, think and act quickly and decisively is required.
Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, Lean Six Sigma, and process control methodologies to drive continuous improvement preferred
Experience working with a large, diverse team of engineers, supervisors, and shop floor operators preferred.
Demonstrate thorough knowledge of statistical process control, statistical analysis, and quality systems/improvement processes/tools preferred.
Additional Role Requirements:
Responsible for a 24/7 production operation, including after-hours phone support. This also includes being available to travel to the site as needed during nights and weekends.
Responsible for slurry lines overall performance against the sites KPI’s.
Strong communicator among the various departments within the organization.
Strong Motivator and desire to engage on the shop floor.
