A Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) is a paraprofessional who works under the supervision of a BCBA or BCaBA. At this ABA job level, the RBT is primarily responsible for direct implementation of treatment plans related to skill- acquisition and behavior reduction. RBTs also collect data and provide support when needed.
RBT Job Responsibilities:
✓ Implements treatment plans
✓ Collects skill acquisition and behavior reduction data
✓ Applies feedback and training on ABA job performance given by the lead BCBA or BCaBA
✓ Provides behavior support inside and outside of the home or classroom when applicable
Position Qualifications:
- Must be available to provide services as per the recommendation on the treatment plan
- Must hold a HS diploma at a minimum
- At least one year of experience working with children with autism and related disorders preferred. (Recent grads welcome to apply)
- Must speak fluent English, as all of our sessions are conducted in English
- Bi-lingual not required but a big plus
- Hold the RBT credential, be in the process of obtaining it, or willing to complete it within the first month of hire
- Must have reliable transportation
Job Duties and Description:
- Provide one-on-one BA services to children diagnosed with autism and other related disorders at schools, daycares, client's house or office setting
- Implement skill acquisition and behavior reduction programs under the supervision of a BCBA and BCaBA. (Supervision will be provided to those seeking certification in Behavior Analysis- BCaBA / BCBA)
- Collect data on a daily basis for both skill acquisition and behavior reduction programs
- Log and input all data/notes according to company policy
- Communicate with parents and caregivers regarding client progress
- Attend company training and staff meetings.
Physical Demands May Include:
- Lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling
- Assist with lifting, holding or positioning students with disabilities (including physical, behavioral, learning, etc.)
- Sitting or stooping on the floor for extended periods of time
- Standing or bending over repeatedly throughout the day
- Outside duties (assist with car line, field trips, and supervising students on playground)
- Must work well in noisy and crowded environments
