This role offers the opportunity to operate specialized tanker trucks on a daily home route, delivering essential liquids safely and reliably. Duties
- Safely operate tanker trucks with manual transmission on designated routes, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations
- Load, secure, and unload freight using appropriate equipment such as forklifts or roll-off trucks when necessary
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, including checking the refrigerated trailer, flatbed, or other specialized equipment
- Deliver liquids and freight to various locations, ensuring timely arrivals and proper handling of sensitive cargo
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, route documentation, and compliance records throughout each shift
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers regarding route updates, delivery status, or any issues encountered during driving or loading/unloading processes
- Perform routine maintenance checks and report any vehicle malfunctions promptly to ensure optimal performance
Requirements
- Minimum of two years of professional driving experience with a valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) suitable for tractor-trailer operations
- Proven experience operating manual transmission trucks and handling refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, or similar specialized equipment
- Familiarity with freight loading & unloading procedures using forklifts or dump trucks as needed
- Knowledge of route driving best practices and safety protocols for transporting hazardous or sensitive materials
- Ability to perform detailed vehicle inspections and basic maintenance tasks independently
- Strong understanding of DOT regulations and compliance standards for commercial drivers
- Excellent communication skills to coordinate with dispatchers and customers effectively
