Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and dependable Owner/Operator Contract Driver to join our dynamic delivery team. As an owner-operator, you will leverage your own vehicle to provide reliable, efficient transportation services for our clients. This role offers the opportunity to work independently while ensuring timely deliveries, excellent customer service, and safe handling of goods. Your expertise in route driving, load management, and vehicle operation will be essential in maintaining our high standards of service excellence.
Duties
- Safely operate your own car, minivan, SUV, box truck or similar commercial vehicle to deliver goods across designated routes
- Load and unload cargo using manual lifting techniques, pallet jacks, or forklifts as needed
- Manage delivery schedules efficiently to meet customer expectations and deadlines
- Provide exceptional customer service by ensuring friendly, professional interactions at each delivery point
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections and maintenance checks to uphold safety standards
- Navigate routes using GPS and route planning tools to optimize delivery times
- Document delivery activities accurately, including signatures, shipment details, and any issues encountered during transit
Experience
- Proven experience as a delivery driver or courier with a strong focus on route driving and load management
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; commercial driver’s license (CDL) preferred but not required depending on vehicle type
- Familiarity with warehouse operations and inventory handling is a plus
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting 50 pounds and moving cargo safely and efficiently
