Job Summary/Objective
Work with all stakeholders as a content expert leader in special education to provide students with disabilities a Free and Appropriate Public Education in their Least Restrictive Environment. EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Essential Functions/Duties
The essential functions include, but are not limited to, the following:
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:-
Provide ongoing training, coaching, and technical assistance to special education and general education staff on topics including, but not limited to: implementing specially designed instruction, effective instructional practices, positive behavior support, safety and crisis plans, classroom management, and service delivery.

Serve as the Local Education Agency Representative in Special Education and Gifted-related meetings.

Build relationships directly with families and stakeholders while maintaining professional and courteous verbal and nonverbal communication.

Provide direct and consultative de-escalation support for students receiving special education services as part of the school’s building response team.

Attend school team meetings focused on data analysis, instructional practices, transition, MTSS, and attendance.

Demonstrate understanding of laws, regulations, and best practices in Special Education.

Coordinate and actively participate in all aspects of the evaluation process in collaboration with the school psychologist and/or the case manager as part of the multidisciplinary team.

Notify supervisors of potential litigious situations, facilitate compliance with all applicable regulations, and review documents to ensure quality and compliance as needed.
MARGINAL FUNCTIONS:-
Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Review, amend, finalize, and submit special education documents within the specified timeframe to the special education department in order to ensure quality compliance.

Provide Special Education coverage as assigned by the supervisor.
