Duties
- Safely operate tow trucks, including flatbed and traditional models, to recover and transport vehicles across various locations.
- Conduct thorough vehicle inspections to assess damage, perform minor mechanical repairs, and troubleshoot issues using automotive diagnostics tools.
- Secure vehicles onto tow trucks following cargo securement protocols to prevent damage during transit.
- Load and unload vehicles with precision, ensuring safe vehicle loading onto tow trucks using manual transmission skills and mechanical knowledge.
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating clearly with clients, explaining procedures, and addressing concerns professionally.
- Follow all safety guidelines related to vehicle recovery towing, cargo securement, and safe driving practices for commercial truck driving standards.
- Maintain accurate logs of all recoveries, loads, unloads, and vehicle details for record-keeping and reporting purposes.
Qualifications
- Proven experience with automotive repair, minor mechanical vehicle repairs, or automotive diagnostics.
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with a clean driving record; experience with commercial truck driving preferred.
- Strong mechanical knowledge of vehicle mechanics for truck drivers and basic vehicle troubleshooting skills.
- Familiarity with flatbed tow trucks, cargo securement protocols, and vehicle recovery towing techniques.
- Excellent driving skills with experience operating manual transmissions in various conditions.
- Ability to manage conflicts professionally while maintaining a positive attitude under pressure.
- Knowledge of safe vehicle loading procedures onto tow trucks to ensure safety for yourself and others.
- Customer service orientation with effective communication skills to assist clients courteously.
