Duties
- Collect blood samples through venipuncture and skin puncture techniques, ensuring proper specimen collection and labeling.
- Prepare and process specimens for laboratory testing following aseptic techniques and laboratory protocols.
- Measure vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration to support patient assessments.
- Assist healthcare providers with clinical procedures, including patient examinations and medical documentation.
- Maintain a clean, organized work environment by adhering to infection control standards and laboratory safety procedures.
- Provide exceptional patient service by explaining procedures clearly, addressing concerns, and ensuring comfort throughout visits.
- Record accurate patient information and laboratory data using medical terminology and electronic health records systems.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in laboratory procedures, techniques, or clinical laboratory settings.
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology relevant to blood sampling and patient care.
- Demonstrated proficiency in venipuncture (blood sampling), specimen collection, and processing techniques.
- Previous hospital or healthcare facility experience preferred; familiarity with hospital protocols is a plus.
- Excellent patient service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and compassionately.
- Ability to follow aseptic technique rigorously to prevent contamination or infection.
