Responsibilities
- Perform thorough cleaning of guest rooms, including making beds, dusting, vacuuming, and sanitizing surfaces to ensure a spotless environment.
- Maintain cleanliness of public areas such as lobbies, hallways, restrooms, and dining spaces by sweeping, mopping, and disinfecting floors using appropriate cleaning equipment and chemical agents.
- Handle cleaning supplies and chemical agents safely by following safety data sheets (SDS) guidelines and proper chemical handling procedures.
- Conduct heavy lifting tasks when moving furniture or supplies to facilitate cleaning activities while adhering to manual handling safety protocols.
- Ensure all sanitation standards are met by regularly inspecting facilities and promptly addressing any maintenance or cleanliness issues.
- Follow hotel emergency procedures in case of incidents or safety concerns, ensuring guest safety at all times.
- Maintain accurate records of cleaning schedules, incident reports, and safety compliance documentation as required by hotel housekeeping management.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in hotel housekeeping or janitorial roles with a strong background in industrial cleaning or custodial work.
- Knowledge of floor cleaning techniques including floor care maintenance such as polishing and stripping floors.
- Skilled in operating cleaning equipment like vacuum cleaners, floor buffers, and steam cleaners efficiently.
- Familiarity with chemical agent handling, safety data sheets (SDS), and proper use of cleaning chemicals to ensure safety for yourself and guests.
- Ability to perform manual handling tasks involving heavy lifting while maintaining safety standards.
- Exceptional customer service skills with a friendly attitude towards guests and team members alike.
- Understanding of hotel emergency procedures and commitment to maintaining a safe environment for all occupants.
