Mechanic & Driver – Handy Equipment Rentals (Green Bay, WI)
About Us
Handy Equipment Rentals is a small, family-owned shop serving the Green Bay community with reliable equipment and friendly service. We are looking for a Mechanic & Driver who enjoys working independently, takes pride in keeping equipment safe and ready, and treats customers with respect.
Job Duties
- Perform equipment repairs, maintenance, and safety checks, including but not limited to:
- Making equipment repairs or outsourcing repairs when required
- Washing and greasing equipment
- Performing oil changes and other routine maintenance
- Gathering parts as needed
- Log equipment condition before and after usage
- Assist rental customers, visitors, and vendors in a polite, friendly, and professional manner
- Demonstrate proper equipment usage to customers
- Assist with loading and unloading equipment as needed
- Deliver and pick up equipment as needed
- Complete rental transactions in Renterra software: check rates and availability, create quotes, reserve equipment, open/close contracts, schedule deliveries/pickups, send customer paperwork, and process payments
- Perform other duties as assigned
Working Conditions
- Exposure to chemicals such as gasoline, diesel fuel, oil, grease, and cleaning solvents
- Most work performed indoors in a shop setting; some areas may not be heated or air-conditioned
- Ideal Schedule: Monday - Friday 5:30 AM - 1:30 PM (flexible)
Education, Skills & Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Customer service skills and a friendly, professional attitude
- Strong reasoning and problem-solving skills
- Ability to lift/move 50–70 lbs and sit or stand for long periods
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
