Supervising Pharmacist – Retail & Long-Term Care Pharmacy
We are a growing pharmacy serving both retail and long-term care (LTC) patients. We are committed to providing safe, efficient, and patient-focused pharmacy services while maintaining the highest standards of compliance and care.
We are seeking an experienced Supervising Pharmacist to oversee daily operations, lead our pharmacy team, and ensure compliance with New York State and federal pharmacy regulations. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with retail and LTC workflows, strong operational knowledge, and the ability to manage a fast-paced pharmacy environment.
Responsibilities
- Serve as Supervising Pharmacist in accordance with New York State Board of Pharmacy requirements.
- Oversee daily retail and LTC pharmacy operations, including prescription verification, workflow management, and quality control.
- Lead and support pharmacy staff while maintaining an efficient, professional work environment.
- Ensure compliance with NYS, federal, DEA, and pharmacy regulations.
- Provide clinical oversight, medication counseling, and excellent patient service.
- Manage LTC medication packaging processes, including experience with automated packaging machines.
- Utilize PrimeRx pharmacy software for prescription processing and workflow management.
- Coordinate with facilities, nurses, physicians, and healthcare partners to ensure accurate and timely medication services.
- Manage inventory, ordering, and vendor relationships using pharmacy purchasing systems and platforms.
- Maintain strong time management, organization, and problem-solving skills to meet daily operational goals.
Qualifications
- Active New York State Pharmacist license in good standing.
- Eligible to serve as a Supervising Pharmacist in New York.
- Previous pharmacy leadership or management experience preferred.
- Experience in retail and/or long-term care pharmacy operations.
- Experience with PrimeRx and pharmacy workflow systems preferred.
- Experience with medication packaging machines and LTC packaging workflows preferred.
- Familiarity with major pharmacy vendors, wholesalers, and ordering platforms.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently while leading a team in a high-volume environment.
Pay: $75.00 - $90.00 per hour
