Job description
A rapidly growing hospitality company with increasing portfolio is looking for a General Manager with experience in hotel administration and operations. The job opportunity is in a Marriott Branded Hotel in the Draper Area. The GM will be responsible for daily hotel operation, responsible for all departments within the hotel. The GM will report directly to the Director of Operations of the organization. GM will closely work with the upper management to set the monthly and quarterly revenue goals and lead the team to achieve those goals.
General Manager Duties and Responsibilities
- GM will be responsible for leading and overseeing daily operational activities, hiring and mentoring of employees to build a highly successful team.
- Provide exceptional customer service, make customer stay as comfortable and accommodating as possible while achieving team and Brand goals.
- GM will perform all required coaching to staff and take necessary steps to maintain a high customer rating month to month.
- Follows instruction and guidance from the upper management to achieve the overarching revenue goals.
- Maintains brand standard in all success indicators
- Works within the legal policies and guidelines by federal and state level
- Decision must be made with minimizing cost and increasing revenue in mind
- Prepare and submit on a timely basis operational results/reports to Management Company and Ownership
- Build successful team by hiring new qualified employees and training existing staff
- Be available at all the time during working hours
- May require to be available after hours for management meetings or cover for urgent hotel needs
- GM may need to wear sales hats when needed to attract clients for direct bill opportunities
- May require to help out in other locations operated by the parent organization in special circumstances
General Manager Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Ability to deal with management, associates, guests, and the general public in a courteous, tactful, and patient manner.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high energy, and demanding work environment.
- The hotel operates 7 days a week, 24 hours a day. Department schedules must accommodate fluctuating business demands and associates may be asked to work shifts other than those they prefer or normally work and overtime as required.
- The General Manager requires a good understanding of revenue generation and profit/loss implications
- Ability to work as a team player with all levels of the hotel staff.
- Excellent guest relation skills.
- The General Manager requires strong interpersonal skills needed to cultivate customer relations and work with associates of various levels and backgrounds.
- Dedicated, hard-working, self-motivated to work independently with little guidance.
- Good computer skills.
- Good management skills.
- Practice safety standards at all times.
- Adhere to Brand Standards.
General Manager Education and/or Experience
- Applicant must have minimum 5 years of hotel management experience
- Applicants with associates degree or equivalent education will be preferred
- Working experience in different departments in hotel industry is a plus
- Marriott Certification.

Pay: $55,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
