Job Summary
We are seeking a new employee to join our shop team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding woodworking/carpentry or construction for crate building. We ship a lot of our glass in custom crates we build on-site and one of our seasoned craters is retiring. Please be proficient in using various woodworking/carpentry tools and equipment. This role requires attention to detail, precision, and the ability to work with both hand tools and advanced measuring instruments. When this role is not building crates, they will be ask to assist in the shop in a variety or areas.
Duties
- Create and build custom crates for 100% zero-beakage shipments off glass
- Operate miter saws, nail guns, drill/drivers and other woodworking/Carpentry equipment.
- Utilize hand tools, micrometers, calipers, and other precision measuring instruments for accurate fabrication.
- Conduct quality checks on finished products to maintain high standards of workmanship.
- Collaborate with team members to optimize production processes and improve efficiency.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace while adhering to safety protocols.
Requirements.
- Familiarity with the ability to interpreting shipement requirements and creating crates
- Strong basic math skills for measurements and calculations.
- Experience using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers and calipers.
- Excellent attention to detail with a focus on quality assurance.
- Ability to lift heavy objects (large sheets of glass)
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
