Performs cashier, receptionist, and registration duties at the Sullivan Community Center emphasizing excellence in customer service. Ensures that proper cash handling procedures and internal control processes are followed. Hours include evenings and weekends.

QUALIFICATIONS
Must be honest, have regular attendance, and have the ability to work in cooperation with others without causing disruption. Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with diverse people in an organizational context. Must have basic computers skills including the use of Word and Excel. Must have a CPR/AED certification or be willing to complete CPR/AED training within the first 60 days of employment.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Performs front desk services and operations at the Sullivan Community Center providing excellent customer service. This includes the following:

Interacts with customers to answer questions; resolve problems, register customers for programs, membership passes, and events using registration software.

Effectively communicates with customers in person and on the phone to market and promote Park District programs and services. Provide tours of facility as needed.

May be scheduled for opening and/or closing shifts, holidays, weekends and during registration peak demand.

Performs cash handling in accordance with District cash handling policies. a. Accept payments, process transactions and receipts b. Prepare daily deposit worksheets.

Performs a variety of clerical duties, including filing, copying, taking phone messages and assisting with special event preparations. Must resolve incidents and program issues as they arise.

Processes incident and accident reports as necessary. Contact appropriate personnel for emergencies. Process incident and accident reports as necessary.

Maintain general awareness of facility and program needs at all times by conducting periodic building walk-throughs and taking responsibility for identifying and addressing any related issues or incidents as they arise.

Takes proper safety precautions, anticipates unsafe circumstances, and acts accordingly to prevent accidents. Responsible for the safety of self, others, materials, and equipment. Uses all required safety equipment.
- Comply with the department dress code by wearing Park District apparel and name tag.

Performs related duties as assigned.
SAFETY AND RISK MANAGEMENT

Maintains a working knowledge of all general agency and departmental-specific safety rules.

Uses material handling equipment or staff assistance when lifting and or moving objects 30 pounds or less.

Reports any work-related or patron injuries to supervisor promptly.

Attends required safety program and in-service education meetings.

Corrects unsafe conditions and/or reports them to supervisor.
