Duties
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting to promote independence and comfort
- Monitor residents’ health by observing vital signs, reporting changes, and supporting medication administration under supervision
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist residents during meal times to ensure proper nutrition
- Support residents with mobility using equipment like Hoyer lifts and manual handling techniques to ensure safety during transfers
- Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light cleaning duties and adhering to infection control protocols
- Follow care plans meticulously, documenting observations, patient responses, and any incidents in compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Engage with residents through meaningful conversations and activities that promote social interaction and mental stimulation
Qualifications
- Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health environments is highly preferred
- Knowledge of patient observation techniques, dementia care, Alzheimer’s care, memory care, and working with individuals with developmental or intellectual disabilities is advantageous
- Certification in CPR and First Aid is required; additional training in HIPAA compliance and manual handling is a plus
- Ability to work effectively with individuals with autism or neurodevelopmental disorders while demonstrating patience and empathy
- Strong communication skills to collaborate with healthcare teams, families, and residents’ support networks
- Physical stamina for heavy lifting, assisting with transfers, and long shifts on your feet
