Overview
South Bend Computer Repair is a small, owner-operated shop handling everything from laptops and desktops to phones, tablets, and game consoles. We're looking for a reliable, hands-on person to cover afternoons and grow into a true do-it-all bench tech. If you like taking things apart, figuring out what's wrong, and learning real repair skills, this is a great seat.
Schedule & Pay
- Monday–Friday, 2:00–5:00 PM (about 15 hours/week)
- $12–$16/hour, based on experience
- Room to take on more hours and responsibility over time
What you'll do
- Greet walk-in customers, take in devices, and write up repair tickets
- Handle afternoon pickups and customer follow-ups
- Diagnose and repair computers (Windows & Mac): OS reinstalls, malware removal, data backup/transfer, hardware swaps (RAM, SSDs, batteries, screens, keyboards)
- Phone and tablet repairs: screen and battery replacements
- Basic data recovery and troubleshooting
- Keep the bench, inventory, and shop organized
What we're looking for
- Genuine interest in electronics — school, hobby, or prior repair experience all count
- Comfortable with small tools and careful, detailed hands
- Good communication and a customer-friendly attitude
- Dependable and able to work the afternoon shift consistently
- Able to learn fast and work independently once trained
Nice to have
- Console repair (HDMI ports, etc.)
- Advanced data recovery
Growing into (learn alongside us)
- Soldering / microsoldering and board-level repair — skills we're actively building out as a shop, so if you want to learn this trade as it grows, it's a great spot to do it
This is a chance to learn the whole trade from someone who works the bench daily — diagnostics, repairs, data recovery, and board-level work we're growing into together. Bring the curiosity and reliability; we'll build the skills.
