This team member would work on a variety of projects within our Public Works, Water, Commercial, and other business units while utilizing innovative industry-leading equipment. Our Geospatial team serves public and private clients throughout the country and is comprised of folks in our Des Moines, Mankato, Storm Lake, Sioux Falls, Bloomington, and La Crosse offices. We are a full-service and multi-disciplinary firm, performing award-winning work in planning, design, survey, and construction.

Assist in the preparation of proposals, estimate project costs and communicate directly with clients.
- Perform limited fieldwork, drafting, record research, data analysis, document preparation, land descriptions, plats and other aspects of Land Surveying.
- Oversee collection of quality survey data for maps, reports, and descriptions.
- Oversee surveys to establish legal boundaries for properties based on field data, record documents & titles.
- Assist in the preparation of all data including charts, plots, maps, records any other documents related to surveying.
- Coordinate survey findings with design team members including survey, architectural and engineering staff.
- Oversee the operation and maintenance of survey equipment used on job site and assist with training others when practical.
- Prepare field drawings and high-quality documentation for each project in accordance with company and general survey standards.
- Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with team, stakeholders and clients.
- Be a team player and be accountable to other members of the team to complete assigned tasks and recognize performance of team members.

You may have formal education in surveying, civil engineering, or geographic information systems (GIS). What we need is someone with some fundamental experience, eagerness to learn and drive to continue learning.
- Formal Education in Land Surveying or equivalent, degree as required for licensure.
- Familiarity with survey hardware and software including Trimble, Leica, Topcon, etc.
- Must be currently licensed as a PLS or have the ability to be licensed within 6 months.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- Strong communication, organization, analytical and interpersonal skills.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel out of town for projects.
- Must be comfortable working outside.
- Proficiency in construction staking, performing ALTA, boundary and topographic surveys.
- Self-motivated with a positive attitude and commitment to professional growth and continuous improvement.
We don't hire survey or construction staff with the intention of laying them off over winter, they are a crucial part of our team at ISG. That said, we are seeking someone who is very adaptable and willing to take on tasks that may be outside their comfort zone.
