Job Summary

Responsibilities
- Perform patient intake procedures, including collecting medical histories and recording vital signs such as blood pressure, temperature, and pulse.
- Assist healthcare providers with clinical tasks such as medication administration, wound care, and basic life support during emergencies.
- Support diagnostic procedures including X-ray preparation and basic imaging as needed within outpatient or inpatient settings.
- Manage electronic health records (EHR) systems accurately by documenting patient encounters, ICD coding, and updating medical histories.
- Provide patient service by answering questions, explaining treatment plans, and ensuring comfort throughout visits.
- Prepare examination rooms, sterilize equipment, and assist with minor procedures across specialties such as dermatology, internal medicine, and emergency medicine.
- Support hospital medicine units or trauma centers with inpatient care duties including vital signs monitoring and patient mobility assistance.
Requirements
- Valid certification as a Medical Assistant from an accredited program; Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is a plus.
- Bilingual Spanish speaking is a plus
- Prior experience working in outpatient clinics, hospital settings, or emergency departments; experience in Level I or Level II trauma centers is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, ICD coding, and medication administration protocols.
- Familiarity with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems and medical-surgical workflows.
- Ability to perform clinical duties such as taking vital signs, assisting with X-ray procedures, and supporting emergency medicine teams.
- Experience working with diverse patient populations, including geriatrics, is a plus.
- Strong communication skills with a focus on patient service excellence; ability to thrive in fast-paced environments like urgent care or hospital medicine units. Pay: $23.34 - $28.11 per hour
