Position Summary
We are seeking a dependable, experienced Commercial Ductwork Installer to join our growing HVAC team. This position is responsible for installing sheet metal duct systems in commercial construction projects, including offices, warehouses, schools, healthcare facilities, retail buildings, and industrial facilities. The ideal candidate takes pride in quality workmanship, works safely, and is able to read construction drawings and coordinate with other trades.
Responsibilities
- Install rectangular and round sheet metal ductwork according to project drawings and specifications.
- Install duct accessories including dampers, VAV boxes, fire/smoke dampers, access doors, and flexible duct.
- Read and interpret blueprints, mechanical drawings, and duct layouts.
- Measure, cut, assemble, and hang ductwork using industry-standard methods.
- Install duct supports and seismic bracing where required.
- Seal duct joints to meet project specifications and code requirements.
- Coordinate work with foremen, project managers, general contractors, and other trades.
- Operate lifts, ladders, power tools, and hand tools safely.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Follow all company safety policies and OSHA regulations.
- Complete work efficiently while maintaining high quality standards.
QualificationsRequired
- 2+ years of commercial duct installation experience (more experienced candidates encouraged to apply)
- Ability to read mechanical drawings and duct layouts
- Knowledge of commercial HVAC systems and sheet metal installation practices
- Ability to safely operate aerial lifts and other jobsite equipment
- Reliable transportation to and from jobsites
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to lift 75 pounds and perform physical work throughout the day
- Strong work ethic and dependable attendance
Preferred
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 Certification
- Experience with hospitals, schools, warehouses, or large commercial projects
- Experience installing spiral duct, grease duct, or specialty duct systems
- Welding or fabrication experience
- Bilingual (English/Spanish)
Physical Requirements
- Lift and carry materials up to 75 pounds
- Climb ladders and work from aerial lifts
- Work overhead for extended periods
- Bend, kneel, crouch, and stand throughout the workday
- Work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour
