Senior Bookkeeper (Full-Charge) Houston, TX (77023) | Onsite | Full-Time
A well-established manufacturing company is seeking a hands-on Bookkeeper to manage the day-to-day accounting operations for multiple business entities. This position offers the opportunity to take ownership of the accounting function while helping support an exciting transition to a new ERP system. The ideal candidate enjoys working in a smaller company environment, is comfortable wearing multiple hats, and takes pride in being a reliable business partner to the team.
Senior Bookkeeper Key Responsibilities:
- Manage full-cycle accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Monitor and follow up on collections activities
- Perform bank and account reconciliations
- Maintain general ledger accuracy
- Prepare monthly financials and assist with month-end and year-end close
- Coordinate with the company's outside CPA regarding financial reporting and tax-related matters
- Support the transition from the current accounting system to a new ERP platform
- Assist with accounting processes across four related entities
- Provide occasional administrative or customer service support as needed
Senior Bookkeeper Qualifications:
- 5+ years of bookkeeping or full-charge bookkeeping experience
- Strong understanding of AP, AR, collections, reconciliations, and month-end close
- Experience working directly with external CPAs and auditors
- Comfortable operating independently with minimal supervision
- Manufacturing industry experience
- Prior ERP or accounting software experience required
- Experience with Odoo is highly preferred but not required
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel
- Team player willing to assist in other areas of the business when needed
- Organized, detail-oriented, and dependable
- Thrives in a small company environment where flexibility and initiative are valued
- Enjoys taking ownership and improving processes
Compensation & Benefits:
- $75,000 - $95,000 annually
