JOB DESCRIPTION
Overview:
We are seeking a Vice President, Data Center Power Solutions to establish and lead the company’s West Coast commercial presence from its new Santa Clara location.
This executive will be responsible for developing strategic relationships with hyperscale cloud providers, artificial intelligence companies, colocation operators, data center developers, utilities, engineering firms, energy providers, and infrastructure partners.
The position is focused on the power and physical infrastructure required to support AI, GPU-driven computing, cloud services, and large-scale data center development. This is not information technology, software development, or coding position.
The Vice President will lead the West Coast market-entry strategy, originate major data center power opportunities, establish executive-level customer relationships, and build the Santa Clara commercial organization.
We provides scalable gas turbines and distributed power solutions for customers facing utility interconnection delays, grid-capacity constraints, accelerated construction schedules, temporary power requirements, resiliency needs, and rapidly increasing electrical demand.
Key Responsibilities:
· Establish and lead company’ West Coast data center commercial operation.
· Develop and execute the regional market-entry, business development, and account-growth strategy.
· Build executive-level relationships with hyperscale cloud providers, AI platforms, colocation operators, data center developers, utilities, and energy partners.
· Develop relationships with customer leaders responsible for energy, power procurement, infrastructure, site selection, engineering, construction, real estate, operations, sustainability, and vendor management.
· Originate large-scale opportunities involving mobile gas turbine generation, bridge power, distributed generation, behind-the-meter power, resiliency, and grid-constrained development.
· Conduct organizational mapping within priority accounts to identify decision-makers, influencers, technical stakeholders, and commercial opportunities.
· Build and maintain a qualified pipeline of West Coast data center power opportunities.
· Lead executive customer meetings, technical workshops, strategic partnerships, proposals, commercial structures, and contract negotiations.
· Translate customer power requirements, utility constraints, development schedules, reliability expectations, site limitations, and fuel requirements into executable commercial opportunities.
· Coordinate with engineering, operations, project management, finance, legal, supply chain, and executive leadership.
· Develop relationships with utilities, natural gas providers, developers, engineering firms, contractors, landowners, equipment suppliers, and financial partners.
· Recruit, build, and lead the Santa Clara-based commercial organization as business activity develops.
· Establish account ownership, performance expectations, pipeline standards, forecasting procedures, and reporting requirements.
· Provide executive leadership with pipeline updates, market intelligence, customer feedback, competitive analysis, and investment recommendations.
· Represent company at hyperscale, AI, data center, power-generation, utility, and energy-industry events.
Required Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in engineering, energy, business, economics, construction management, real estate, or related discipline.
· Fifteen or more years of progressively responsible experience in data centers, energy, utilities, power generation, infrastructure development, business development, or strategic accounts.
· Senior leadership experience within a hyperscaler, data center developer, utility, energy company, infrastructure provider, engineering organization, or related industry.
· Direct experience with data center power, energy strategy, infrastructure development, utility coordination, site selection, real estate development, or power procurement.
· Demonstrated success developing and advancing complex, high-value, long-cycle infrastructure opportunities.
· Established relationships within the hyperscale, AI, cloud, utility, power-generation, or data center market.
· Experience leading executive customer discussions and commercial negotiations involving technical, operational, legal, financial, and executive stakeholders.
· Experience building a business unit, team, regional office, new market, or commercial organization.
· Strong strategic-planning, organizational-leadership, pipeline-management, forecasting, and executive-presentation capabilities.
· Ability to communicate credibly with hyperscaler executives, engineers, utilities, developers, procurement teams, and infrastructure professionals.
· Ability to maintain a regular onsite presence in Santa Clara.
· Ability to travel throughout the West Coast, nationally, and internationally as required.
Desired Qualifications:
· Direct experience within a hyperscale cloud provider, AI infrastructure company, data center developer, utility, independent power producer, or energy infrastructure organization.
· Experience within a hyperscaler’s data center energy, infrastructure, site-development, utility, real estate, engineering, construction, or vendor-management organization.
· Existing executive relationships with hyperscale, AI, cloud, utility, and data center infrastructure decision-makers.
· Experience developing large-scale data center campuses, energy campuses, or other large-load infrastructure projects.
· Experience integrating land, utility interconnection, generation, fuel supply, and infrastructure into a complete development strategy.
· Knowledge of gas turbine generation, distributed generation, bridge power, microgrids, battery energy storage, transformers, switchgear, substations, solid-state transformers, and electrical infrastructure.
· Experience negotiating utility agreements, energy agreements, infrastructure contracts, development agreements, or strategic partnerships.
· Experience developing and managing a multi-state or national opportunity pipeline.
· Graduate degree in business, engineering, energy, finance, or technology.
Leadership Expectations:
· Establish company as a credible data center power solutions partner within the West Coast hyperscale and AI market.
· Build a high-performing commercial organization with clear accountability, customer ownership, and measurable performance standards.
· Create executive access within priority hyperscale, AI, and data center accounts.
· Convert strategic relationships into qualified, technically viable, and commercially executable opportunities.
· Balance long-term market development with disciplined pipeline management, forecasting, and revenue accountability.
· Communicate effectively across U.S. and international leadership teams.
· Maintain executive-level professionalism, integrity, confidentiality, and customer focus.
· Represent company effectively with customers, utilities, developers, engineering partners, government stakeholders, and industry organizations.
