Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly, verify their information, and facilitate efficient intake processes
- Measure and record vital signs accurately, including blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and temperature
- Assist physicians with examinations, procedures, and minor treatments
- Prepare patients for X-ray imaging and assist with basic radiology procedures as needed
- Manage electronic health records (EHR) systems by documenting patient encounters thoroughly and accurately
- Support medication administration under supervision, ensuring proper documentation and safety protocols are followed
- Perform basic physiology assessments and support patients with mobility or gait concerns
- Assist with wound care, casting procedures, or splinting in outpatient or inpatient settings
- Maintain a clean, organized clinical environment adhering to infection control standards
- Collaborate with ambulatory surgery teams on patient care plans or outpatient follow-ups as required
- Conduct medication precertifications as needed or instructed by providers
Skills
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology relevant to orthopedics and general medicine
- Experience working in hospital medicine, urgent care, or outpatient clinics with a focus on orthopedic or musculoskeletal conditions preferred
- Familiarity with EHR systems for documentation and patient management
- Ability to perform vital signs collection accurately and efficiently in fast-paced settings
- Skilled in order and charge entry, medication administration, and basic X-ray procedure preparation within an outpatient environment
- Excellent patient service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and empathetically across diverse populations
