Kavahana is more than just another coffee shop, and more than a bar. We're a bit of both! Offering island-inspired tingly drinks and a great space where people come to relax, socialize, and try kava nectar, a drink with over 3,000 years of history in the Pacific Islands.
At Kavahana, we host exciting events, serve craft non-alcoholic cocktails, and create a great experience for our customers. We’re looking for friendly & energetic barista-bartenders who are passionate about hospitality, love talking to people, and enjoy educating people about cool topics (like kava nectar!)

What You'll Do:
- Make our craft non-alcoholic cocktails featuring kava nectar, as well as Hawaiian coffee and matcha drinks .
- Create a welcoming experience for guests.
- Engage with customers and educate them on what kava nectar is, how it works, and why it’s special.
- Assist with fun events, themed nights, and community gatherings that make Kavahana a unique destination.
- Occasionally be part of our social media presence by helping showcase the vibe of Kavahana on Instagram and TikTok.
Who We're Looking For:
- Available to work shifts at BOTH our Santa Monica & Hollywood locations
- Previous experience in food, beverage, or hospitality is a plus
- Comfortable talking to customers: this role involves a LOT of interaction and education. Much more than any coffee shop to about the same, if not more, than a bar.
- Comfortable appearing in social media content: we love showcasing our team and the experience we create.
- Sunday availability is required.
- Strong multitasking, time management, and teamwork skills.
Job Details:
- $18.50/hr + TIPS
- Free drinks & snacks on shift!
- Flexible schedule
- Part-time and full-time available. Opportunity for advancement.
NOTE: This is NOT a short-term job. We’re looking for teammates to be part of the team year-round.
