Here are a few of the daily responsibilities of a LPN
-
Provides care to residents according to each resident’s individualized plan of care and according to facility policies and procedures.

Performs professional nursing services, which include resident assessment, vital signs, administering all medications and treatments as ordered.

Makes rounds on a regular basis during shift to assess resident medications and monitor/direct nursing assistants to ensure quality care.

Assists in direct resident care as necessary.

Maintains accurate documentation of medication administered and care rendered.

Assigns/directs nursing assistants to specific jobs to ensure quality resident care/health center standards are met.

Attends in-service training sessions to maintain knowledge of current nursing practices.

Communicates with charge nurse any unusual observations, emergency care, family concerns, or change in orders that affect quality of resident care.

Communicates with resident, family, peers, and ancillary staff as necessary to promote quality care.

Models and promotes Pomperaug Woods CARES by maintaining a homelike environment providing individualized care and services.

Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
-
Active CT L.P.N. license
-
Must read, write and speak English fluently
-
Experience with EMR preferred
-
Prior long term care background helpful but not required
