Department: Maintenance
The primary purpose of this position is to maintain the grounds, facility, and equipment in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with current applicable federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, regulations, and our established policies and procedures. You will work as directed by your supervisor to ensure a successful maintenance program is maintained at all times.
- Perform specific tasks in accordance with daily work assignments.
- Participate and assist in department studies and projects as directed.
- Attend and participate in in-service educational classes and on-the-job training programs as scheduled or directed.
- Follow established fire safety policies and procedures.
- Adhere to all established safety procedures and precautions when performing maintenance services.
- Wear and/or use safety equipment and supplies (e.g., back brace, mechanical lifts) when lifting or moving heavy objects.
- Demonstrate knowledge of nursing home policies and regulations.
- Possess skills in painting, electrical, plumbing, sprinkler systems, and carpentry (all a plus).
- Work in all weather conditions including rain, snow, ice removal, hurricane season, and heat waves.
- Minimum of 3 years working experience in a nursing home environment.
- Strong knowledge of nursing home policies and regulations.
- Skills in painting, electrical, plumbing, sprinkler systems, and carpentry are highly desirable.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
