::JOB RESPONSIBILITIES::
As a new Valley Pool & Spa Sales Team Member, we provide full training on everything that you need to know, so no industry experience is required.
- You will be selling all retail store products and services including chemicals, pool supplies, equipment and parts, pools, hot tubs, pool openings and closings, safety covers and installations
- Working as a team to meet and exceed sales goals
- Learning and understanding the products and services we sell
- Water testing on our computerized system
- Adhering to company policies, and operational procedures
- Inventory Control by conducting rotating inventory counts
- Keeping the store stocked and merchandised
- Store, product, and stock room cleanliness and maintenance
- Receiving incoming stock
- Ultimately, you are there to create career-long customer relationships that promote customer loyalty to keep them returning to our stores for the entire ownership of their pool or spa. Our best and top-performing team members make sure all customers know them by name!
::QUALIFICATIONS::
- 2 or more years of sales, customer service, or retail experience
- Ability to build rapport with customers and qualify their requirements
- Effective time management and the ability to plan and organize your own daily selling activity to secure sales goals
- Salesmanship skills, by understanding the selling process and customer engagement as it is related to sales
- Strongly committed to hitting targets and exceeding goals
- Strong customer service skills. As a representative of the Valley Pool & Spa brand, we hold customer service and engagement as a top priority!
- Excellent communication skills, and proficiency with computers (MS Office, Gmail Suite, and our Windows based POS system are all tools used on a DAILY basis)
- You must love to be a team player
- Have basic knowledge of business math and percentages
- Understand proper use of grammar and spelling for writing sales emails and system notes
- We sell some heavy stuff, so you must have the ability to be on your feet for 10 hours a day and lift up to 50 pounds. Also, you must have the ability to move products upwards of 100 or more pounds with proper carts, dollies, pallet jacks, and other merchandise movement tools that are available in the stores.
- Have at least a High School diploma or equivalent
::SCHEDULE INFORMATION::
- Average work week is 39-48 hours per week depending on the time of year and events/sales
- Because we are a retail sales company, you will work various evenings and weekends, but are flexible to your personal needs.
- We are a fun, team-oriented company where our team’s happiness and work-life balance are highly important. Schedules are typically set three weeks to a month in advance for one to two months at a time and requests off are graciously accepted prior to schedule posting, plus “swaps” are acceptable after posting
- Because of the schedule flexibility, we ask that when you are scheduled that you commit and do not call off for any reason other than health related or emergencies.
::COMPENSATION PACKAGE::
- Base hourly wage plus personal commission and bonuses
- Time worked per week over 40 hours is time and a half
- Estimated first year earning potential within $40k-$50k+ range
- 401k Plan with company contribution
- Insurance package offered (Health, Vision, Dental, Accident, and Life)
- 2 weeks paid vacation begins accruing immediately, 3 weeks accrue annually after 5 years, and 4 weeks accrue annually after 15 years.
