Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Elder Law Paralegal to join our dynamic legal team. In this vital role, you will provide comprehensive support in estate planning, guardianship, probate administration, Medicaid planning, and other elder law matters. Your proactive approach and strong organizational skills will help ensure our clients receive exceptional service while maintaining efficient case management. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with attorneys and clients, contributing to meaningful legal work that improves the lives of seniors and their families. Responsibilities
Assist attorneys with preparing estate planning documents such as wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and advance healthcare directives. Conduct legal research across various practice areas including LexisNexis, and other legal research tools. Manage legal case files using document management systems; ensure all documents are accurate, organized, and up-to-date. Interview clients to gather necessary information for estate planning and elder law cases; document details thoroughly for attorney review. Review legal documents for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with applicable laws; perform proofreading and document review tasks. Support litigation processes by preparing pleadings, discovery responses, and other legal documents; assist in trial preparation as needed. Maintain effective communication with clients via phone etiquette and email correspondence; provide exceptional administrative support to ensure smooth case flow.
Requirements
Paralegal experience with a strong background in estate planning and elder law is essential. Proficiency in legal research platforms such as LexisNexis is required. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail. Experience with document management systems is highly preferred. Strong writing skills for drafting legal documents, correspondence, and reports; ability to proofread meticulously. Exceptional interviewing skills combined with professional phone etiquette to effectively gather client information. Ability to perform data entry accurately and efficiently; clerical experience is advantageous. Organizational skills necessary for managing files, scheduling appointments, and supporting attorneys’ administrative needs.
