The Construction Accounting Support Specialist is responsible for ensuring accurate entry and reconciliation of construction material costs and vendor invoices. This position plays a critical role in maintaining accurate job costing by verifying pricing, quantities, and billed information while collaborating with vendors, field personnel, and the accounting team.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Enter material tickets accurately into the MS Ticket Entry System. Review and reconcile vendor invoices to ensure correct pricing, quantities, and job allocations.
- Investigate and resolve invoice discrepancies by communicating with vendors and internal team.
- Track material tickets billed by vendors that have not yet been received from the field.
- Match material tickets to vendor invoices and enter invoices into JAM for processing and payment by Accounts Payable.
- Enter and maintain vendor material quotations within the MS Ticket Entry System.
- Support process improvements to enhance accuracy and efficiency in invoice and ticket management.
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Minimum of 3-5 years of accounting, construction accounting, accounts payable, job costing, or related experience.
- Strong data entry skills with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting or ERP systems.
- Knowledge of construction materials, vendor invoicing, and job costing processes preferred.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and time-management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with team members.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, stretch, pull, and push as needed throughout the workday.
- Ability to occasionally lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
