We are seeking a detail-oriented and adaptable Bookkeeper to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in bookkeeping and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Maintain accurate and organized financial records to support the company’s overall financial health and decision-making.

Process all accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions in a timely manner.

Assist with accounts receivable collection efforts.

Perform regular bank reconciliations to ensure alignment between internal records and bank statements.

Utilize QuickBooks and other accounting software to record and track financial activity.

Assist with tax return preparation and provide support during external audits.

Monitor and track project-related expenses to support budgeting and cost control.

Collaborate with project managers and internal teams to ensure accurate financial reporting.

Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.

Support the integrity and efficiency of daily financial operations.

Assist with similar duties and responsibilities at affiliate companies.

Provide administrative and customer service support for affiliated businesses, including our self-storage operations. Responsibilities may include coordinating new tenant enrollments, facilitating unit showings, processing move-ins and move-outs, and ensuring accurate account setup and closeout.

Perform additional duties as assigned.
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

High school diploma or equivalent required; an associate degree or certification in accounting or bookkeeping is preferred.

Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar accounting role (5 years of experience), preferably within the construction industry.

Proficiency in QuickBooks and other bookkeeping software required; experience with additional accounting software or ERP systems preferred.

Strong knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliation, and tax processes.

Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

According to the New York Pay Transparency law, pay range for this job is $25.00 - $32.00 / hour. The actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.
