Odin Technologies is looking for an experienced Lead Low Voltage Technician to join our field team supporting commercial security projects throughout Maryland and surrounding areas.
This is a hands-on lead position, not an entry-level role. We’re looking for someone who can independently run projects, troubleshoot complex systems, lead technicians in the field, and take ownership of a project from installation through commissioning.
What You'll Do
- Lead commercial access control and IP video installations
- Install, program, troubleshoot, and commission access control systems, including controllers, readers, strikes, maglocks, REX devices, power supplies, and door hardware
- Install and configure IP cameras, NVRs, VMS platforms, and supporting network equipment
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, wiring, and network-related issues
- Read and interpret construction drawings, risers, wiring diagrams, and project scopes
- Lead and mentor technicians and apprentices in the field
- Coordinate with Project Management, customers, general contractors, and other trades
- Complete system testing, walkthroughs, punch lists, and required project documentation
- Provide customer/end-user training when needed
- Maintain Odin Technologies' quality and safety standards
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years of professional access control and IP video experience
- Experience independently running commercial projects and/or leading field technicians
- Strong knowledge of low-voltage wiring, terminations, structured cabling, and door hardware
- Strong troubleshooting skills across hardware, software, and network environments
- Experience with industry platforms such as Lenel, Genetec, Hanwha, Axis, HID, Mercury, Openpath/Avigilon, Milestone, or similar systems
- Familiarity with network switches, VLANs, PoE, and IP addressing
- Ability to read construction drawings, risers, and wiring schematics
- Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
- Ability to work from ladders and lifts and in active commercial environments
- Ability to pass required background checks and clearances, including clearance required to work within the Maryland correctional system
Manufacturer certifications such as Lenel, Genetec, Hanwha, Axis, or similar are a plus.
Schedule & Travel
This is a full-time, primarily Monday–Friday field position with approximately 40 hours per week. Start and end times vary by project, with typical schedules such as 7:00 AM–3:00 PM or 8:00 AM–4:00 PM.
Projects are located throughout Maryland, with a significant amount of work in the Baltimore area. Travel to surrounding areas and occasional overnight stays may be required.
Odin provides hotel accommodations and a travel meal allowance/per diem for required overnight travel.
Overtime is available and may be required based on project needs.
Pay & Benefits
Up to $35.00 per hour, based on experience, certifications, technical ability, and ability to independently lead projects. The top of the range is reserved for highly experienced candidates capable of independently leading complex projects.
