American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a night shift Emergency Department position at a Level II trauma center in Asheville, NC, requiring a minimum of 2 years of nursing experience with at least 1 year in an ED setting.

101-bed Emergency Department within a Level II trauma center and comprehensive stroke center
-
Patient ratios are typically 4:1 for medical patients, up to 7:1 for ED behavioral holds
-
Staffing support includes patient care techs (in cardiac monitoring unit and internal processing area), triage support, and unit clerks on days and nights
-
Equipment includes Baxter pumps and GE monitors

Documentation via Cerner

Night shift: 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM
-
Every other weekend required; scheduling must meet department needs and block scheduling is not available

Floating is limited to within the ED only, but flexibility to work all sections of the ED is required

Active NC or Compact RN license required
-
Minimum 2 years of nursing experience, with at least 1 year in an ED setting

Required certifications (must be obtained prior to start): BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, CPI, and NIHSS
-
ENPC required within 90 days of start

Experience in a Level II trauma center, comprehensive stroke center, or high-volume ED (100,000+ annual visits) strongly preferred

Previous HCA experience preferred

Cerner EMR experience preferred

Must demonstrate teamwork mentality and the ability to coach and give feedback in real time

US SSN and date of birth required for consideration

One professional reference required (two required if currently licensed in Florida or Missouri)

Navy scrubs are required

Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not eligible for this position

No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
