Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Certified Surgical Assistant to work with our board certified Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon at an accredited surgical center. In this vital role, you will provide essential support during surgical procedures, ensuring optimal patient outcomes through expert assistance and adherence to safety protocols. Your expertise in perioperative care, surgical techniques, and hospital protocols will contribute to delivering exceptional healthcare services in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment. Responsibilities
- Assist surgeon during a wide range of cosmetic surgical procedures.
- Prepare the operating room by setting up surgical instruments, supplies, and equipment while maintaining strict aseptic techniques to prevent infection.
- Monitor patient vital signs and physiological parameters throughout procedures, providing critical support for anesthesia teams and ensuring patient stability.
- Demonstrate proficiency in various surgical techniques such as suturing, tissue handling, and anatomy knowledge to assist effectively in complex surgeries.
- Maintain compliance with hospital infection prevention protocols and healthcare safety standards to uphold the highest level of patient care quality.
- Get credentialed through the accredited surgery center.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Surgical Assistant (CSFA, CSA, SA-C) with valid credentials from an accredited organization.
- Proven 1-2 years experience working as a surgical first assistant in cosmetic and plastic surgery settings
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, physiology and anatomy
- Hands-on experience assisting with open cosmetic surgical procedures
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; additional certifications such as ACLS or PALS are a plus.
- Excellent analysis skills combined with attention to detail to ensure patient safety and optimal surgical outcomes.
