This pay range encompasses multiple levels of the role. Career level and compensation depends on applicants credentials.

Overview:
The Director of Human Resources plans and oversees the human resources functional operations, including talent acquisition, compensation, benefits, training, employee relations, safety, and compliance. Administers human resources programs and policies to reflect the organization's mission and values, support company goals, achieve objectives, and positively engage the workforce. Maintains broad and current subject matter knowledge and expertise in federal and state employment laws to advise leadership with solutions for human resources issues and evolving organizational needs. As the Director of Human Resources, you will be a trusted strategic leader for all departments in the organization and responsible for aligning HR policies with business objectives.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Oversee the Human Resources department consisting of three employees. Responsible for the overall strategic direction, administration, coordination, and evaluation of the human resource functions.
Duties/Responsibilities:

Develop and implement HR initiatives and systems that support the organization's overall business objectives, including managing the HRIS.

Develop and execute workforce planning and talent management strategies to support organizational growth.

Partner with leadership to drive organizational development, succession planning, employee engagement and training and development initiatives.

Advise managers and executives on employee relations matters, performance management, coaching, and corrective actions.

Lead compensation planning, salary administration, and benefits strategy to ensure competitiveness and alignment with business objectives.

Develop and monitor HR metrics and key performance indicators to assess organizational effectiveness and inform decision-making.

Oversee the development, implementation, and maintenance of HR policies, procedures, and employee handbook updates.

Provide strategic leadership by articulating HR needs and plans to the executive management team and ownership.

Analyze and improve organizational processes and work to improve quality, productivity, and efficiency.

Provide leadership, guidance, and backup support across all HR functional areas to ensure continuity of operations.

Ensure compliance with applicable labor laws and regulations.
The person in this role will uphold the culture of Utilitra, including relationship building with customers, as well as general behavior on Utilitra or client premises or at Utilitra-sponsored events.
Requirements/Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required; Master's degree preferred.

Minimum of 8-10 years of progressive Human Resources experience, including leadership experience.

Demonstrated success developing and implementing HR strategies that drive organizational performance and employee engagement.

Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.

Experience leading employee relations, recruitment, compensation, benefits, training, and compliance functions.

Demonstrated competency with HRIS platforms and related HR technologies.

Exceptional leadership, communication, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills.

Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment in sensitive situations.

Experience supporting multi-state workforce preferred.

SHRM-SCP, SHRM-CP, SPHR, or PHR certification preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.

Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization's facilities.
Travel Requirements:
Occasional travel may be required to meet with potential vendors, attend conferences, and visit other company locations.
