Primary Purpose:
To provide students with knowledge and skills in business concepts, finance, entrepreneurship, and career readiness, while fostering critical thinking, problem-solving, and digital literacy through engaging instruction aligned with the district's curriculum and TEKS standards.
Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree from an accredited university

Valid Texas teacher certification in Business and Finance (Grades 612)

Demonstrated knowledge of business principles, computer applications, and career/technical education

Prior teaching experience preferred
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
Instructional:
-
Develop and deliver lessons aligned with TEKS for business education courses (e.g., Principles of Business, Marketing & Finance; Money Matters; Business Information Management).

Utilize technology and project-based learning to engage students in real-world business applications.

Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners.
Classroom Management:
-
Create a safe, orderly, and positive learning environment.

Manage student behavior in accordance with Student Code of Conduct and campus policies.
Collaboration:
-
Work closely with other CTE staff, core content teachers, and counselors to support student academic and career success.

Attend department meetings, ARD/504/RTI meetings as necessary.
Professional Responsibilities:

Maintain accurate records of student grades, attendance, and progress.

Participate in professional development and implement strategies learned.

Comply with all district policies and administrative regulations.
Working Conditions:

Frequent standing, stooping, bending, and lifting

Regular exposure to computer screen time
May involve local travel for competitions or career events
- Salary is commensurate with experience
- Minimum Salary $66,000 for fully certified teachers
- Works 187 Day Calendar
- Please note that this role requires in-person attendance and is not eligible for remote work.
