Position Summary
918 Bar & Grill is looking for a reliable, personable, and service-focused Bartender / Server to join our Food & Beverage team.
This position is responsible for providing friendly and efficient service to our members, guests, and golfers while maintaining the professional and welcoming atmosphere expected at The Neuse Country Club. Team members may work both behind the bar and on the restaurant floor depending on business needs.
We are looking for someone who works well with a team, takes ownership of their responsibilities, and understands that great hospitality comes from being attentive, professional, and consistent.
Responsibilities
- Provide friendly, attentive, and professional service to members and guests.
- Take food and beverage orders accurately and enter them promptly into the POS system.
- Prepare and serve beer, wine, cocktails, and other beverages according to established recipes and standards.
- Maintain knowledge of the food menu, beverage selections, daily specials, and unavailable items.
- Check guest identification when required and follow all responsible alcohol service procedures.
- Properly open, maintain, and close guest checks.
- Accurately enter gratuities and complete all checks before the end of the shift.
- Maintain proper cash and credit-card handling procedures.
- Keep the bar, service stations, dining areas, and guest-facing areas clean, organized, and properly stocked.
- Complete assigned opening, running, and closing side work.
- Restock beer, wine, liquor, mixers, glassware, ice, and other supplies as needed.
- Communicate effectively with the kitchen and other members of the Food & Beverage team.
- Assist teammates during busy service periods and maintain a team-first mentality.
- Follow all 918 Bar & Grill and The Neuse Country Club service standards, policies, and procedures.
- Maintain a clean and professional appearance while on duty.
- Report guest concerns, operational issues, shortages, or service problems promptly to management.
- Perform additional Food & Beverage duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
- Previous restaurant, bar, country club, or hospitality experience preferred.
- Bartending experience is preferred but training may be provided to the right candidate.
- Strong communication and customer-service skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Comfortable handling multiple tables, bar guests, and responsibilities at the same time.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to follow established procedures.
- Ability to work independently while also contributing to a team environment.
- Basic knowledge of beer, wine, spirits, cocktails, and food service is preferred.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and perform the physical duties normally associated with restaurant and bar service.
Availability
Candidates should have flexible availability. Shifts may include:
- Breakfast and morning service
- Lunch service
- Dinner service
- Evenings
- Weekends
- Holidays
- Golf tournaments, member events, and other club functions
Both part-time and full-time availability may be considered based on operational needs.

Pay: $7.50 - $25.00 per hour
