The Opportunity:
Whittier Street Health Center is seeking a full-time Pharmacy Technician to join our Pharmacy team. In this role, you will support daily pharmacy operations by assisting pharmacists with prescription processing, medication preparation, inventory management, and patient support.
The Pharmacy Technician plays an important role in ensuring patients receive accurate, timely, and compassionate pharmacy services while supporting our mission to advance health equity and provide high-quality care to Boston’s diverse communities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist pharmacists with preparing, labeling, assembling, and distributing medications.
- Process written and electronic prescriptions, including insurance billing and documentation.
- Provide excellent customer service by assisting patients and healthcare providers in person and by phone.
- Maintain pharmacy inventory by monitoring stock, ordering supplies, and removing expired medications.
- Maintain accurate pharmacy records and ensure compliance with policies and regulatory guidelines.
- Support a safe, clean pharmacy environment by following infection control and patient safety standards.
- Collaborate with pharmacy and healthcare teams to provide efficient, patient-centered care.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
- PTCB National Certification required.
- Previous Pharmacy Technician experience required.
- Experience in a pharmacy, healthcare, retail, or customer service setting preferred.
- Strong customer service, communication, and organizational skills.
- Excellent attention to detail with the ability to manage records, inventory, and multiple priorities.
- Dependable team player with a commitment to providing respectful, patient-centered care.
