Open Arms Community Health & Service Center is seeking a compassionate, dependable, and motivated Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) to join our growing healthcare team at one of our Transitional Housing and Recuperative Care programs.
This is more than a nursing position. You'll work alongside a dedicated multidisciplinary team—including a Program Manager, fellow LVNs, Case Managers, Resident Aides, Security Personnel, and Medical Providers—to provide coordinated, person-centered care for individuals who may experience homelessness, substance use, recent incarceration, or mental illness while transitioning toward stable housing and greater independence.
With an average of approximately 50 client interactions per shift, you'll have the opportunity to build meaningful relationships while delivering quality, compassionate care in a collaborative environment.

What You'll Do
§ Provide compassionate nursing care in a Transitional Housing and Recuperative Care environment.
§ Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by healthcare providers.
§ Monitor vital signs, assess client conditions, and promptly communicate changes to the medical team.
§ Assist with medication management, wound care, chronic disease management, and health education.
§ Collaborate with physicians, Program Managers, fellow nursing staff, Case Managers, Resident Aides, and Security Personnel to ensure coordinated care.
§ Maintain accurate medical records, medication logs, treatment documentation, and care plans.
§ Follow infection prevention protocols and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and agency standards.
§ Respond appropriately to urgent medical concerns while exercising sound clinical judgment.
§ Foster a clean, safe, respectful, and healing environment for every client.
Qualifications
Current California LVN License
Current CPR/BLS Certification
Valid California Driver's License (Preferred)
Strong clinical assessment and documentation skills
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
