We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Senior Government Proposal Writer to join our dynamic team. In this pivotal role, you will craft compelling, persuasive proposals that secure government contracts and funding opportunities. Your expertise in proposal writing, technical documentation, and contract management will drive our success in competitive grant submissions and contract acquisitions. Responsibilities
- Develop comprehensive, persuasive proposals for government contracts, grants, and funding opportunities aligned with organizational goals
- Conduct thorough research on grant funding sources, government agency requirements, and nonprofit community needs
- Manage proposal content from initial draft through final editing, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and compliance with submission guidelines
- Collaborate with program managers and subject matter experts to gather technical information and develop compelling case narratives
- Maintain detailed records of proposal activities using databases such as Raiser's Edge or similar CRM systems
- Oversee grant management processes including tracking deadlines, preparing budgets, and coordinating supporting documentation
- Proofread and edit proposal documents for consistency, grammatical accuracy, and strategic impact
Experience
- Proven experience in proposal writing for government agencies within the nonprofit or corrections sectors
- Strong understanding of contract management, grant submission procedures, and fundraising strategies related to government funding
- Demonstrated ability to research grant opportunities and develop persuasive grant proposals that align with funder priorities
- Proficiency in database management systems such as Raiser's Edge or equivalent CRM tools
- Excellent technical writing skills with a focus on clarity, organization, and impactful storytelling
- Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously with strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Knowledge of nonprofit foundation practices, community organization engagement, and strategic planning processes related to program development and budgeting
Pay: $75,000.00 - $105,000.00 per year
