Position Purpose
While teaming with administration, student services, district personnel, and colleagues througout the district, LISA Academy teachers encourage and monitor high levels of academic and interpersonal growth for all students.
Essential Functions
Teaching and Learning
- Create and maintain an encouraging and safe learning environment.
- Use LISA Academy's curriculum guides and HQIM to develop rigorous and differentiated lessons to stimulate student growth.
- Respond to student learning needs as they arise by making more independent practice opportunities, peer tutoring, small groups, etc.
- Acknowledge student service needs as indicated in 504, IEP, or ESL plans.
- Update grades weekly and follow up with students who are not turning in work or need more help. Contact parents if issues persist.
- Review and monitor assessment data to create and follow student growth plans. Share feedback and updates about these with administrators and PLCs throughout the year.
Professionalism
- Create and maintain an encouraging and safe learning environment.
- Contribute to the learning-focused school culture (PLC participation, data meetings, keeping PD hours, upholding student conduct mandates).
- Communicate effectively and professionally with students, families, colleagues, and administration.
- Attend and/or provide input to support accurate IEP, 504, and ESL conferences and plan development.
- Participate in a few extracurricular activites to support students.
- Help with duties to ensure school functionality and safety.
- Administer or help with the administration of standardized testing.
