Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Charge Nurse to lead and coordinate nursing care within our healthcare facility. Duties
- Provide direct supervision and mentorship to nursing staff, ensuring adherence to clinical protocols and best practices
- Coordinate patient care activities across departments, including medical-surgical, critical care, emergency medicine, and specialized units such as ICU, PICU, or memory care
- Oversee patient assessments, vital signs monitoring, and medical documentation using EMR systems like Epic or Cerner
- Facilitate communication between healthcare teams, patients, and families to promote understanding and satisfaction
- Manage staffing schedules, resource allocation, and workflow to optimize patient care delivery
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and infection control protocols to safeguard patient confidentiality and safety
- Assist with complex clinical procedures such as IV infusion, catheterization, airway management, and wound suturing
Skills
- Extensive critical care experience including ICU or Level I Trauma Center settings
- Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, or Athenahealth
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and diagnostic evaluation techniques
- Skilled in patient assessment, medication administration, pain management, and tube feeding procedures
- Experience working with diverse populations including individuals with developmental disabilities or dementia-related conditions like Alzheimer’s disease and memory care needs
- Ability to perform advanced clinical tasks such as ventilator management, spinal tap procedures, and sterile processing techniques
- Familiarity with ICD-9/10 coding systems for accurate medical documentation and case management
