About the Role: The Floor Maintenance Lead plays a key role in the success of FloorLife Solutions’ field operations. This position is ideal for someone with a strong work ethic, pride in craftsmanship, and a willingness to take ownership on the job. The Lead works hands-on alongside Technicians to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standard.
Key Responsibilities:

Work nights or variable hours, including weekends, as required by project schedules; must be physically able to perform all duties of the job.

Support and lead a small team through example, staying hands-on, and keeping work on track.

Take initiative to solve problems on-site, minimizing the need for management intervention.

Communicate clearly with the Operations Manager about job status, site conditions, and any new information.

Maintain equal responsibility with Technicians; complete the same tasks while taking on more complex or high-risk duties when needed.

Assist with training new Technicians and supporting their skill development and performance growth.

Provide excellent customer service as the on-site contact when the Operations Manager is not present.

Handle questions and challenges professionally and calmly.

Help maintain records of crew performance, work quality, and progress in cooperation with the Operations Manager.

Promote a positive, safe, and efficient work environment; reinforce safe work practices and cleanliness.

Ensure all tools, equipment, and vehicles are cleaned, maintained, and documented using daily and weekly checklists.

Maintain a clean driving record and reliable transportation to and from the home facility in Gorham, ME; responsible for operating the FLS van to and from worksites.

Other duties as needed to support successful project completion.
Qualifications:
-
3+ years of experience in janitorial, maintenance, or facilities work; hands-on experience with floor maintenance equipment preferred.

Strong leadership and team coaching skills; able to lead by example.

Knowledge of OSHA regulations, safe work practices, and chemical handling.

Excellent communication, problem-solving, and customer service skills.
-
Dependable, detail-oriented, and committed to high-quality work.

Flexible with work hours, including nights and weekends.
-
OSHA 10 or 30 certification preferred.
Work Environment & Physical Demands:
-
Primarily field based with some administrative functions.
-
Ability to walk, stand, bend, kneel, and perform other physical tasks throughout the shift.

Exposure to cleaning chemicals, dust, and varying temperatures (PPE provided).

Frequent lifting, bending, kneeling, and use of tools and machinery.
-
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. regularly.
-
Pushing and pulling heavy equipment up to 450 lbs.
