Prestige Floor Care Floor Technician
Job Type: Full-Time
Schedule: Varies (M–S, all shifts)
Prestige is seeking highly motivated candidates with a strong work ethic and a desire to excel as a Floor Technician. This role provides high quality carpet, floor, and water restoration/maintenance services to commercial clients, typically between 5:00 p.m. and 2:00 a.m.
Technicians must understand and accurately perform all restorative and maintenance cleaning methods for carpet, upholstery, fabric, and leather. This position requires professionalism, reliability, and the ability to work independently once trained.
Primary Responsibilities
- Perform all assigned carpet, floor, and water restoration services at commercial client locations.
- Install chair tips on chairs as required for specific projects.
- Submit all completed work in Connecteam for review, including photos and notes when applicable.
- Report to work on time and in proper uniform.
- Complete work order documentation after each job and notify the supervisor of any special circumstances.
- Maintain a safe work area, including proper use of caution signs and barriers.
- Ensure cleaning equipment, tools, and vehicles are kept clean and in good working condition.
- Follow all company policies and procedures as outlined in the employee handbook.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Maintain a professional attitude and appearance.
- Follow instructions and work with minimal supervision.
- Perform proper floor care techniques and prepare areas to be cleaned, including all flooring surfaces.
- Buffing, stripping, waxing and vacuuming floors.
- Operate and maintain all floor cleaning and finishing equipment, including buffers/burnishers, water extraction machines, and carpet cleaning equipment.
- Follow established safety precautions for all cleaning and maintenance tasks.
- Complete other tasks as assigned by the Director of Operations.
Travel Requirements
- Travel is required primarily throughout the DMV region (DC, MD, VA).
- Technicians may also be assigned projects in: SC, GA and NC
- Occasional overnight travel may be required.
Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Reliable transportation required.
- Valid driver’s license required.
- Ability to pass a criminal background check and drug screen.
- Authorized to work in the United States.
- Ability to lift 50–75 lbs., walk, bend, squat, and reach as needed.
