The Habitat for Humanity of Tuscaloosa ReStore sells new and gently used furniture, appliances, building materials, and housewares—most generously donated by our community. Every purchase supports Habitat Tuscaloosa’s new home construction and home repair programs.
Position: ReStore Associate
What You’ll Bring:
- Knowledge of retail operations and best practices
- Experience in retail, building supply sales, or warehouse work (preferred)
- Strong financial, organizational, and analytical skills
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Familiarity with marketing channels and retail technologies
- A team-focused attitude and willingness to learn
Your Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
- Support the store model as directed by the ReStore Manager
- Sell items to customers and assist with purchases
- Load items into the cars and trucks of guests
- Lead and assist volunteers to complete daily tasks safely
- Keep the sales floor and storage areas clean, organized, and well-stocked
- Provide outstanding customer service
- Operate the cash register and handle money accurately
- Ride on the delivery/pick-up truck to collect donations
- Load, unload, and process donated inventory
- Execute store policies and procedures
- Take on additional projects as assigned
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
- Ability to lift at least 50 lbs. and work in heat, cold, or dusty conditions
- Must be available to work Saturdays (no Sundays)
Pay, Hours, & Benefits:
- Flexible hours, Monday–Saturday
- Hourly pay based on experience
