- Follow established protocols for environmental services to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations such as OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) standards
- Maintain cleanliness of floors through proper floor care techniques including sweeping, mopping, buffing, or carpet cleaning
- Restock supplies like paper products, soap, and cleaning agents to ensure availability at all times
- Dispose of waste properly in accordance with sanitation procedures and environmental regulations
- Conduct routine inspections to identify areas needing additional attention or maintenance issues requiring escalation
- Adhere to infection control practices and safety procedures to promote a healthy environment for staff and visitors
Skills
- Knowledge of OSHA safety standards related to cleaning and sanitation practices
- Proven experience in cleaning, custodial work, or environmental services within healthcare or commercial settings
- Strong understanding of janitorial procedures including floor care and general sanitation techniques
- Ability to operate cleaning equipment such as vacuums, buffers, or extractors safely and effectively
- Excellent attention to detail with a proactive approach to maintaining cleanliness standards
- Effective communication skills for coordinating with team members and reporting issues promptly
- Prior experience in hospital environments or healthcare facilities is highly desirable
