Retro Installation & Start-Up Technician – CDL Mechanical
CDL Mechanical is currently seeking an experienced Residential HVAC Retro Installation & Start-Up Technician to join our growing team in Phoenix, AZ.

Position Responsibilities:
- Install residential split systems, heat pumps, package units, furnaces, air handlers, and evaporator coils
- Perform complete system replacements and retrofit installations
- Modify and fabricate ductwork as needed for retrofit applications
- Install line sets, condensate drains, electrical whips, disconnects, thermostats, and related HVAC components
- Start up and commission newly installed equipment
- Verify airflow, refrigerant charge, static pressure, and overall system performance
- Complete installation documentation and startup reports
- Maintain professionalism and strong customer communication
- Work safely while following company and manufacturer installation standards
- Participate in overtime and weekend work as needed
Requirements:
- Prior HVAC installation experience required
- EPA Certification required
- Must have own hand tools
- Strong knowledge of residential HVAC installation practices
- Ability to read installation manuals, wiring diagrams, and equipment specifications
- Experience brazing, pressure testing, evacuating, and charging systems
- Ability to climb ladders and work in attic environments
- Ability to lift and maneuver HVAC equipment and materials
- Positive attitude and dependable work ethic
- Valid driver's license with clean driving record preferred
