Responsibilities
- Prepare and assemble a variety of deli food items, including sandwiches, salads, and hot foods, following established recipes and safety guidelines
- Operate POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS to process retail sales transactions accurately and efficiently
- Manage customer orders with professionalism, upselling products to enhance sales opportunities while providing excellent service
- Handle cash register operations, process cash and card payments, and ensure proper cash handling procedures are followed
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the deli area, including food preparation surfaces, equipment, and workspace in compliance with food safety regulations
- Operate kitchen equipment safely for food preparation tasks and assist in food handling activities to ensure quality standards are met
- Provide friendly customer service by answering questions about products, offering recommendations, and ensuring a positive shopping experience
Experience
- Previous experience in food service or retail environments such as quick service restaurants, grocery stores, or cafés is highly preferred
- Familiarity with POS systems like Aloha POS or Micros POS is advantageous
- Culinary experience or food preparation skills are a plus, along with knowledge of food safety management practices
- Demonstrated ability to manage time effectively in busy settings while maintaining attention to detail
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to upsell and promote products confidently
- Basic math skills necessary for cash handling and retail math calculations
- Experience operating kitchen equipment and maintaining sanitation standards in food industry settings
